A single cry in the darkness?

The pre-order cost for Dreadfleet in the United Kingdom is $70 GBP. This converts to 133.34 NZD.

The pre-order cost for Dreadfleet in the USA is $115 USD. This converts to $138.75 NZD.

The pre-order cost for Dreadfleet in New Zealand is $220 NZD. This converts to $155.45 GBP.

I live in New Zealand.

Will I be playing this game? No... No I will not...

  3. I don't think I would bother with this game even if it was cheaper. I am pretty sure there are other similar, better and more affordable games like Dread Fleet.

Think of GW expensiveness as the tax you have to pay for all the beautiful land and fresh food you got over there!

  5. WTF!!! I knew it would be bad for you guys in the southern hemisphere but this is just plain old daylight robbery. Utterly, utterly awful. Here are my thoughts on Deadfleece:

  7. Thanks for the compliment Vent, you've got a good blog here too so thanks to Black hand for linking me to it.

  8. Yeah, I live in the US and $115 for a boxed game that will, of course, be unsupported is ridiculous. My BFG fleet has been ravaged by dust bunnies for a while now, and Space Bulk was great for about 25 mins. If you want to try a naval game Uncharted Seas is well received. Also, thx to Frontline for linking me to your blog.

  9. I'm gonna be plunging into Malifaux for awhile I think. It's different than anything else I've played / watched & the sculpts are amazing.

If I get the desire to play a naval-style game, uncharted seas or dystopian wars will be getting the nod... I already have a very small fleet of Cyclons for Colonial Battlefleet too...

  10. I have a funny feeling the US sales are going to go to grandmothers trying to spoil their geeky teenagers, and not much more. I know I won't be buying it.

  11. I totally feel your pain! there is just no justification for GW to shaft NZ (and OZ) the way they do!
